The natural and attractive landscapes of the northwest are the highlights of this tour, but include also some major sights of the northern capital Chiang Mai, as well as Doi Inthanon National Park (Thailand's highest peak 2565 m).

Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Chiang Mai - Arrival (None)
Upon arrival in Chiang Mai by Pai River Thailandflight, meet up with your guide and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 - Chiang Mai - Pai (B,L)
Duration: 08.00am - 18.00pm

After breakfast take a sightseeing tour in Chiang Mai, which includes an ancient temple in the old part of the city as well as Suthep mountain temple, the land- mark of Chiang Mai, You will have also the opportunity to see some of the well known handicraft factories in Bosang, such as sa umbrella painting, lacquer ware, woodcarving, silverware etc. Early afternoon leave Chiang Mai to the northwest. Have a brief stop at an orchid farm and a local countryside market. Then the tour continues on some steep, winding and scenic roads before you will reach the small town of Pai.

Day 3 - Pai - Mae Hong Son (B,L)
Duration: 08.30am - 16.30pm

Leave Pai and travel along wonderful mountain scenery. Visit a Lisu hill tribe village. Then reach the village of Soppong and do sides’ trip to the spectacular Thum Lod cave. Continue on winding roads through the wilderness towards Mae Hong Sorn. On route pass various Lahu hill tribe villages and take a stop at one of them. A highlight will be the visit to one of the rare Paduang (better known as longnecks) village close to the Burmese border.

Day 4 - Mae Hong Son - Mae Chaem (B,L)
Duration: 08.30am - 16.30pm

In the morning take a boat or bamboo raft (it's your choice) for a scenic trip on the Pai River. Then start for a one hour ride on an elephant back through the surrounding jungle. Next visit two picturesque Shan temples, Wat Doi Kong Moo on a small hill top, which offers superb views and Wat Jong Klang at the picturesque city lake. After lunch leave Mae Hong Sorn in southern direction and travel through the mountains via Khun Yuam to Mae Chaem. On route take some brief stops, such as at some hot springs (here chance to take bath) and a Hmong hill tribe village. Late afternoon arrive at the small town of Mae Chaem, situated at the foot of Doi Inthanon Mountain.

Day 5 - Mae Chaem - Chiang Mai (B,L)
Duration: 08.30am - 17.00pm First drive up to Doi Inthanon National Park (Thailand's highest peak 2565 m) and see picturesque waterfalls, royal pagodas as well Karen and Hmong hill tribe villages, the later one with a royal farming project. Short walks are possible, too. Finally you will be back in Chiang Mai in the afternoon. There is some time left to do more sightseeing or shopping in the northern capital. Stay overnight in Chiang Mai. Overnight in Thaton / Hotel Name

Day 6 - Chiang Mai - Departure (B)
Transfer to the airport or railway station, depends on your further schedule.
